A quiet week for the watchlist, but consumer bellwethers will test how resilient spending really is — Only one watchlist name reports this week -- Costco -- but AutoZone and Darden round out a read on consumer health, with tariff-driven cost pressure and value-seeking behavior as the throughline heading into the holidays.
3 companies scheduled to report.
AutoZone reports Q4 FY2026 with consensus EPS of $54.22 on $6.71B revenue. Watch whether pricing actions to offset tariff-driven parts cost inflation are holding gross margin, and whether "do-it-yourself" auto maintenance spend stays resilient as consumers delay big-ticket purchases.
Costco (on the watchlist) reports Q4 FY2026 with consensus of roughly $6.55 EPS on ~$94.85B revenue. Focus is on membership fee-hike renewal rates, e-commerce growth, and whether comp sales show the consumer trading down elsewhere but staying loyal to the warehouse model.
Darden reports Q1 FY2027 with consensus of about $2.06 EPS on ~$3.21B revenue. Olive Garden and LongHorn traffic trends are the tell for lower- and middle-income consumer pullback in casual dining, and whether value-meal promotions are protecting margin against labor and food cost inflation.
A fourth, independent lens — this one on the companies that just reported (or are about to), not the tape itself.
Every weekday evening around 7:30 PM ET, a separate job checks which notable companies (our own maintained watchlist, plus other market-moving names when relevant) reported earnings after that day's close, and runs each through a "Triple Check": actual EPS and revenue against Wall Street consensus, and — the part that drives most of the actual price reaction — forward guidance. On Fridays, a same-day recap is low-value heading into a weekend with no trading day right after, so that run instead previews which notable companies are scheduled to report the following week.
Weekday evenings run the recap above; Fridays run the week-ahead preview instead.
Past evenings' earnings reviews.
